Consolidation of members
There has been uncertainty as to how many members we have
Decisions were made on the criteria for qualification for membership
-Every member should give a membership fee 500 Ksh per year
-levels of membership shall be introduced and each level shall have a criteria for qualification
-A membership card shall be given at one of the levels
Wiki loves Monuments
.Has to be actual monuments - List of monuments required
Suggestions that came up in case monuments won't work:
- Wikipedia loves Universities
- Wikipedia loves Cities
There should be an attempt to get sponsors for this
Now that there is a board in place, a proposal will be written to request for permission to
put the information on-line for instance the Railways Museum which many do not know
Wikimedia Office Kenya
Given the nature of operations in Kenya, to be taken seriously by most institutions and
individuals, there is need for an office. In future, the office space can be a Wiki-centre
where people can be renting the space for meetings
David will come up with a sample proposal.
Wikimedia Kenya Story
Victor is coming to Kenya soon and would like to interview a few guys on their story
about how they have benefited from Wikipedia. In particular is the guy who was building
a plane in his backyard whom David will try and trace.
Also, Steve will follow up on schools in which the off-line Wikipedia was installed and
get a sample from which we can tell a story.
David will liaise the media to also cover the story.
Board members gave their details to be put on the template for the business card.
Steve will ensure that all the members get a T-Shirt. There are about 50 left.
